Supper Club

Nutritious Meals, Friendly Conversation.

Social isolation and loneliness affect approximately one-third to one-half of the elderly population and have a negative impact on their physical and mental health. We’re trying to change that…

Social isolation and loneliness affect huge swathes of our population with our elderly, disabled, and minority communities being disproportionately affected. This has a negative impact on their physical and mental health.

In the early days at Hornsey, we became aware of customers who were lonely and sometimes appeared vulnerable too.  We had the idea of running a ‘Supper Club’ session where people could have a free, hearty, healthy meal in a friendly environment which would help to reduce their isolation, and in turn, have a positive effect on their wellbeing.

The sessions are also used to help and encourage people to connect more with the community around them, and for residents to get any information, advice, and guidance they might need from services and organisations such as Citizens Advice or the local authority, both of whom we collaborate with

We often run quizzes, bingo, and music sessions alongside our meals and if you have an idea that you would like to volunteer to run at a session, or you are musicians that would like to play at one of our meals you can contact us by using the button below.

Also, if you want to help us in our struggle against hunger and social isolation by giving a donation it would be greatly appreciated!
